This was a Ukraine read out from a conversation with Macron a few weeks ago - yes, he still keeps talking to Putin, but France hasn’t wobbled on Ukraine sovereignty.

Right now those statements on Ukraine are positioning, I cannot imagine that Ukraine will not be compelled to lose some territory as part of a peace settlement, the idea is to make Russia see what an enormous cost it paid for a few slivers of land that they had de facto already occupied before the war.
