I have voted for a Republican exactly one time—it was for my state senate candidate (and he was a Dem until 2004, and actually still is at heart, but figured out that the only way to be elected here in SC was a Repub.) It was worth it, but somehow it got me on some weird Republican mailing/phone lists.
