if you have a chance go to missingmoney.com and do a couple of quick searchs

while everybody hasn’t necessarily lost something, interest things do show up, (ie things you didnt know you lost or were due to you)

tax refunds
unused gift cards
utility and other deposit refunds
sometimes insurance refunds
lost paychecks (how can that happen? lots of ways)
escrow checks
undeposited checks

if i told you how much money i have ‘found’ (and collected) for clients and family over the last 15 years, (in number of items and total dollars) you would call me a liar.

even when you think you’ve found it all, new stuff pops up all the time. that’s due to statutes of limitations and how long a company can or must hold onto an item before turning it over to the state

these days i have a list of names i check every 4-6 months.

Heh, I checked that on a lark and I think I may be on there.

I need to check further with the state of Ohio because there is no address associated with the listings.

It said the address is “not disclosed” but the companies are ones I have dealt with. And my name is unique enough in that I do not have a middle name and that is how they are listed.

So, I will dig in and see what’s up.
