Love this. My own mother was the first person in my family to go to college. I was the second. I’ve shared this one with all my younger fam and friends who are able to or who are thinking about going to college.

I was the first in my family ever to go to college (BA, MA, graduate fellowship). Parents, grandparents…nope. But in the next generation (niece & nephew), there are two. Both are working in good paying jobs they enjoy and both are now pursuing their master’s degrees.
OTOH, two of my five siblings went to trade schools and both have good paying jobs that they also enjoy.
MrBWS went through IBEW apprenticeship (and the coursework is brutal!) and is now a Journeyman Lineman.
Education (college, trade school, apprenticeship) is the key.
