Basically, as I read the internet-related provisions of TPP, it’s a wishlist for all the angry music/movie guys who are still butthurt over BitTorrent sites. And I get that. Piracy is out of control.

But their remedies for piracy are the internet equivalent of summary field executions. This is the kind of stuff that we pushed through in Russia … and then Putin’s guys used the anti-piracy laws as pretexts to seize the computers of an opposition party members, or pro-democracy bloggers, because you could be sure that somewhere on those hard drives was something that was pirated.
