Yeah, I get the why.

I actually haven’t had any drops under the car that I’ve seen at all. There is definitely a leak (I can smell hot oil after I’ve driven it for a bit) but it’s not major.

I just need to deal with it. Which means setting aside time to deal with it too. Blargh.

Hot oil smell suggests a few things, the primary one being that oil is getting on hot parts and burning. Suggests the leak may be near the top of the engine and dripping down. At least that’s where I’d start.

After the money you’ve put into the vehicle, hope it’s nothing serious. Sounds like it’s more of an inconvenience right now. My experience has been Toyotas will go hundreds of thousands of miles with minimal repair. Put over 350,000 on my last one and it still ran great.
