Not to get all divisive and stuff, but I have a problem with the use of the word ‘tribal’ as meaning something bad. What you’re talking about might actually be bad, but at the same time, using that word for it could be bad.

I’m going to go make a bike out of pieces of bike.

Tribal actually sounds too good for what it’s being used to describe. I’d go with “cult-like” or “cultish”.
