A loving, benevolent god creates billions of humans who, after brief lives that may be somewhere between horrible and good, will burn in hell for all eternity because that loving, benevolent god made them inherently bad.

Who would buy that book?

I don’t know about a book, but it makes for some good dialog on The Good Place:

Michael: If I’m right, the system by which we judge humans the very method we use to deem them good or bad is so fundamentally flawed and unreasonable that hundreds of millions of people have been wrongly condemned to an eternity of torture.

Judge Gen: Damn! That was intense! Look at my arm, y’all. Look, I got goosebumps. Doesn’t happen very often.

(and on a separate note, am I the only one who never knew Maya Rudolph was Minnie Riperton’s daughter?)
