re: #280 Yashmak

I don’t. I can help accomplish the movement’s goals without having to subject myself to the ranting of the Glenn Becks of the world.

You can attend a teaparty without listening to Glenn Beck. (I’m not saying you should; just that I don’t see why you’re conflating these two things.)

I can do it without having to rub elbows with folks sincerely calling for the burning of books.

Now I think you’re letting your enemies define you. What percentage of tea-partyers are book-burners? As far as I know, Glenn Beck is the only one to have talked about burning books. Have there been any signs at tea parties saying “Burn books”? Are there any prominent tea partiers condoning book-burning?

I might be more prone to attend a rally of this sort, if I thought it likely that the media would actually report on any aspect of it besides the ranting of the crazier elements present.

You’d stay away from something you (could) support because the MSM will distort it? Would that include an appearance by a conservative candidate whom you support? A Support The Troops rally? A protest against academic anti-Semitism?
