This is where all the nonsense that the teabaggers believe about them being God’s new chosen people and America the new promised land comes into play. If white, conservative Christian, rural Americans are supposed to rule by divine right, then any other government is a Satanic abomination, especially one which has at its head a mixed-race, urban, liberal Christian.

So the country deserves a Sodom and Gomorrah-style cleansing for defying God’s will, according to these loons (never mind the rest of the world).

I wish I could see things in another way, but this has become a religious war to those waging it, and if suicide bombers in Pakistan or Kamikaze pilots in Japan are any indication, the threat of self-destruction is not enough to dissuade the truest of true believers.
