I will say, though, that some remarks by Chuck give insight into his psyche — his mother’s brush with cancer when he was 8, for example. He said he was convinced then that it would be fatal. It wasn’t, but it probably shaped his personality and relationship with the world. I’m not buying his contention that he’s autistic or on the autism scale, however. Asberger’s may be a legitimate diagnosis, I think.
