I think that to say that it takes a person “not from San Francisco” or not an “Urban/coastal elite” is what it takes to talk to rural america is just wrong. In order for Democrats to speak to these areas, it must be through Democratic Party principles. It should not matter who you are or where you are from. It would be against the principles of our party to limit who could represent what a Democrat is or should be.
