Why wouldn’t they? It doesn’t work like this Jesus + belief = soul. I prefer to believe that God takes into consideration the reasons why large groups of civilization are not brought to him. Hence the need for missionaries in the past. If one does not know something, how can they be held accountable if no one ever told them?
