I agree on Iraq, and Afghanistan while worthwhile, was always hopeless, because of Pakistan’s influence.

Libya though is quite okay though.

And beyond cheap. It would take decades, at the very least, to accrue a cost even remotely near Afghanistan as of now.

It’s still in the same “war footing” though. A combination of less foreign presence (air-conditioning money going to projects instead) and less bureaucracy would mean more efficient technology development.
