I really thought he would end up as the nominee.

I thought he would be a STRONG contender…but in hindsight it is easy to see there was no “lane” for Walker. He was not enough of a lunatic to tempt anyone drawn to Trump or Carson, nor evangelical enough pull votes away from Cruz, nor mainstream enough for Bush or Kasich fans. It turns out that being famous for loving the Koch brothers and hating unions wasn’t anywhere close to sexy enough for 2016.
