Tea Party Favorite Scott Walker Asks The Feds For Money

Gov. Scott Walker declared a state of emergency in 42 Wisconsin counties Monday in an attempt to get more state and federal resources to farmers whose crops are threatened by drought conditions.

The declaration will allow the state’s Department of Natural Resources to expedite permits for farmers to use stream or lake water for irrigation. Walker is also urging farmers to report crop conditions to U.S. Farm Service agents in anticipation of seeking a federal disaster declaration that could provide additional help for farmers.
