Josh Marshall over at TPM points out something that nobody else covering the developments in Ukraine has. The Russian Ambassador read a letter today at the UN Security Council meeting, claiming it was from Yanuk, that essentially gave a green light to Russia’s occupation of Crimea. Yet the last anyone heard directly from Yanuk was the televised speech given shortly after being ousted, in which he bitched about how the coup was illegitimate and he did not approve of Russian military involvement. Of course, Josh notes that Yanuk may have changed his mind since then, but if so, he’s not said so in person.
