Cops can be pricks. I wouldn’t want their job for anything.

Cars are a little trickier, because it’s not considered your ‘home’ therefore if the police has a ‘reasonable suspicion’ they can search it right on the spot.

In particular, if you’ve broken any traffic laws, you’re effectively at their mercy.

The home, you’re right in theory, though even then, that’s under attack, as police are now getting warrants for entire apartment complexes and parking lots, and the right to search anyone who enters or leaves an area.

It still amazes me how so many people are willing to ignore constitutional violations, so long as it’s happening to a group they don’t particularly like. (be it, poor, black, muslim) It’s almost like they never think it’ll happen to them. which is the worst thing to think.
