The Port Authority and Gov. Cuomo have pushed to start a $4 billion renovation of the airport, including new terminals, jetways, and parking. The Governor has also included an AirTrain to the 7 train. None of that addresses the fundamental issues with the short and crossing runway setup. It would take a far more expensive and comprehensive rethink of the airport to address that.
