re: #21 jamesfirecat

Dark I’ve got something I want you to see since I’ve mentioned it in two other threads, and its pretty on topic.

I say this not to attack but to try and pierce the veil of partisanship.

1: Do you support defunding planned parenthood?

2: If you do not, a category that I suspect most I expect most right leaning lizards fall into… are you okay with the fact that your party took a large swipe at an important American Institution to get a few more billion trimmed from the budget?

Yes you can say that they did it as a bargaining chip without the intent of ever actually defunding planned parenthood, that they were being canny politicians… but ultimately, if you say any of those things… at the end of the day, how are you not saying that the ends justify the means?

I desperately want/need to hear an answer so I don’t end up losing much of my respect for you Dark.

1. It wasn’t a priority for me, no. I don’t really support it or oppose it. Abortion isn’t an issue I vote on, either way.

2. I do not see Planned Parenthood as an “important American institution”. To be honest, I’ve only ever thought of them as abortion providers, and my thoughts ended at that. That sounds myopic, I know, but they have no impact on my life, so I pay them very little attention.
