Yeah, if any gun nut thinks the revolution was won and the British defeated by unorganized private citizens who hoarded weapons for themselves and fought for independence completely by themselves without any colonial government oversight, intervention, or leadership, their interpretation of history is as bad as Palin’s and their implied self-importance even bigger than hers.

If you read the bios of the signers of the Declaration of Independence, they were almost entirely men who had spent a lot of time as elected officials of the colonies. (Or smuggling tea, *cough John Hancock cough*)
