Looks like the monsters we used to draw in Junior High—based on Ed Roth’s “Rat Fink” drawings. That was in the early 60s.
Ed Roth was my childhood hero. I got to meet him a couple of times in the early ’70s at the drags at the Tucson Race Track. He was a really nice guy and gave me some pointers about illustration and printing methods. The second time I chatted him up, his friend and another hero of mine, the equally legendary driver Shirley Muldowney, came over and gave Ed a big hug and he introduced her to me. I was in seventh heaven.
