We totally got screwed in 1972 when the Olympics was a giant stand-in for the Cold War. We got a little revenge with the 1980 hockey team, especially since that wasn’t a game tainted by scandal.

But 1992 was a thing of beauty. Some fools in the 70s and 80s claimed that Russians were better at hoops because of fundamentals—that same old anti-street ball argument you hear from 5’9” white guys.

That Dream Team was so damn good that when Magic got hurt and missed the last few games, no one really even noticed.
