If you’re on probation you have to submit to a search. IMO, that’s partly the reason why they give such long sentences and let people out after a few. That keeps them in the system, and a possible source of revenue, for years.

Gah…. we really shouldn’t be letting police keep the materials that they seize/the money gained from auctioning them off, that creates far too obvious a chance for corruption.

If the objects/money was given to the government in general and the government financed our police forces better, we’d have at least a slightly more sane legal process in America if you ask me….
