You could live in your office, I guess. There are “facilities” in the Capital Building/Rayburn/whatever. No kitchen tho.

You have to have staff.

You have to have computers.

And the stationery!

How much could you accomplish without the wardrobe, the smoozing, the dinners, lunches and other BS? If you don’t play-ball, other members won’t let you do jack.
