This woman was spouting hyperbole on a podium at a political rally, and she later explained that she meant that Murray should be politically hanged, not literally. This talk of charging political opponents with crimes in order to teach them and others a lesson, unless they are clearly guilty of a crime, smacks of fascism. It’s something I would expect to hear from a Eurofascist or an Islamofascist, but not here.

I think she is guilty. The fact that she later recanted is irrelevant to me. There are things you do not say in public, and if you do the hammer ought to come down.
