Ascribing Occupy Oakland’s recent shenanigans to Nancy Pelosi’s “God bless them comment” about OWS back in October of last year is a massive non sequitur.

Kind of, sort of but not really. It was a toxic and reckless movement from the very begining and it was politically dangerous to give them anything other than a vague statement supporting the right to protest. Luckily OWS rebuffed early attempts to associate with Dem politicians but opponents are still going to use any statements support OWS for political gain. That’s just the way it works. Dems would to the same thing to Republican statements supporting the Tea Party. You might not agree but it’s still fair political game.
