There must be some undercurrent here I’m blind to. Obviously Kilgore and I see Occupy very differently. That having been said, he has taken some undeserved heat and downdings IMO. When he pointed out the Anonymous connection he got downdings. Thing is he has that right as far as I can tell. So I’m a little puzzled as to why the downdings at that comment.

Kilgore is a serious skeptic of Occupy. My view of Occupy is much more positive. But I don’t resent his position. I did not lose any respect for him as a poster over it.

The undercurrent is that piling on sometimes happens at LGF. Sometimes it’s good, sometimes not so good, and anything in-between. In this case it’s a mixture. Some people genuinely identify with OWS and ding criticism. Other people got burned on KT’s initial rather unhinged attitude to OWS (which mellowed out a bit, at least publicly; at first it was “I warned you fucking moonbats”, defense of macing, very illustrative misinterpretation of some videos against OWS) and ding kind of reflexively.
