I saw an article earlier this morning that didn’t pull punches in saying that the DNC has basically conceded the impeachment fight to Trump. That quibbling over the redacted portions of the Mueller Report may actually hurt the DNC not because it looks like they’re “harassing” Trump, but because it likely won’t change anything about the conclusions of the Report itself. And the conclusions were so damning that the DNC’s refusal to act on them can only really be read as irrational fear that doing so will “help” Trump win reelection.

The DNC has set itself up to go to the polls next year arguing that Donny’s actions are so heinous that he deserves to be removed from office, but will only lead many voters to ask why the DNC did nothing if that is the case.

For two years, leadership kept saying “wait for the Mueller Report.” The Mueller Report came and now it’s basically a McGuffin… leadership’s position now seems to be “eh, what are you going to do this close to an election?” Which is stupid because we have elections all the damn time in this country.
