Also for your information, not all German soldiers were SS; most were Wehrmacht (Army).

Thanks for the clarification, the press pretty much honed in on the SS angle. Still, I’d blame Reagans staff for not doing due diligence on such a sensitive issue. From what I recall about Reagan, he would not have been pleased by not being in the loop.
