True, but as a Houstonian it was cool to see Hakeem Olajwuon (a naturalized US citizen) win a gold medal in 1996.

But the real Dream Team will always be 1992. They were first and all the stars were in alignment that year. Christian Laettner didn’t belong on the team, but all the rest are all-time greats. Imagine Scottie Pippen as the FIFTH option off the bench!

The 1992 team indeed featured the stars of the NBA’s renaissance of the 1980’s. Magic Johnson, Michael Jordan, Charles Barkley, Larry Bird. It was a true parade of the NBA’s rise to greatness.
