re: #378 HappyWarrior
I always got UU too. I honestly don’t know what I am sometimes. I self ID as agnostic but I’m weird at the same time. I wear a St. Patrick medallion but that’s honestly more cultural than it is religious. Yeah I wear my Irish-American heritage literally on my neck and arm and I also have a Celtic cross that I bought that I have next to a small liberty bell model I bought at Mount Vernon and a bicentennial medal that my dad’s mom owned.
I cannot begin to identify with any non-Christian religion, I have met some Christians (mostly Anglicans) who seem to make sense to me on a theological level.
I was badly put off Christianity as a child and adolescent by Catholic dogma and then as a college studenty by the Campus Crusade for Christ dweebs who plied the halls of our dormitoriy.
Took me a long time to encounter people who quietly live and witness their faith, invite others to share but do not browbeat or set themselves up as examples.
