I was fortunate to have many Muslim classmates from an early age. Diversity really can be a great builder for maturity. I still remember when I visited my hometown’s mom and pop kabob place and the owner, an Afghani man telling my mom about how her boys (my brother’s and I were all grown up.) That guy was never an outsider. Just a part of the community.
