My preferred analogy for that same principle — the hair that makes a beard.

How many hairs make a beard? One facial hair isn’t a beard. Two facial hairs isn’t a beard. Neither is 3 or 4 or 5 or 6…. but if you keep adding and counting, eventually there’s a beard.
