LCS 1 - littoral command ship. It’s designed to fight in close to shore where bigger ships are more susceptible to smaller craft.

It wouldn’t have stopped this particular attack on the Maersk Alabama, which was several hundred miles out to sea when it was overtaken by the pirates.

Littorally speaking, I shore wish we could more effectively deal with these sons of beaches…….
