This isn’t going to end well if they get their way. Levin and the rest of the right wing is trying to roll back the safety net by any means necessary, and to do so they’re now looking at ways of circumventing the US Congress, which is essentially deadlocked and wouldn’t be able to take up actions that would amend the US Constitution in any meaningful manner. So, they’ve turned to the states as the progenitors of amendments that would then push through the conservative agenda.

Sneaky bastards, and there’s enough state legislatures and governors who are GOPers that this strategy may have legs.

The question may not be getting their way. I’d be curious who Levin knows or works with that will profit from the drive attempting to make it so. Nothing preventing groups from making a nice bundle helping others chase something they will not be able to catch.
