It can’t. It can support 7.5 billion people but it cannot employ them. As I’ve said elsewhere, the problem is that courtesy of automation and globalization, there will be fewer and fewer jobs available. The jobs that are a real growth industry, such as caregiver for the elderly, are demanding and don’t pay well. And most industry actually requires a large consumer base to be profitable. No one has figured out how to handle this.

Well, they have (minimum societal income, such as Ontario is debuting now).

The problem is getting the ultra wealthy to part with a fraction of their piles they’ve made on society to support that society.
