Why not? I remember in Gulf War I when we stopped killing Iraqi troops during the aviation phase of that Op. All of a sudden they were being “attrited”. “Well,” I thought, “Isn’t that special. They have verbized attrition. So much more digestible.”

Eighteen years later and its still the same old game at the DoD.

Off the coast of Vietnam, we’d engage “Wiblics” (water borne logistic craft) with our 3 inch guns. I pictured shiny gray patrol craft flying the North Vietnamese flag, but it turned out they often were small wooden boats with a basket of fish.
