It’s a numbers game. The porkfest passed even with all that sentiment against it. The GOP doesn’t have the numbers and unless you’re going to convince me that Specter, Collins, and Snowe wont go and vote with the Democrats in the Senate, they’d get any other porkfest passed again. They’d get any program they want passed since they can’t get the numbers to block it from passage (not enough to filibuster, and certainly not enough to block a vote when you need a simple majority).

The Democrats will use the economic situation, and the air of desperation to pass whatever they hope to accomplish, regardless of what it actually does to the economy in the long run. These bills are corrosive to the private sector, and strengthen government. It’s antithetical to how the nation should operate, and yet the Democrats keep moving further and further to the left.
