That’s the line they’re going with - that this batch of GOP inquisitors couldn’t ask the right kinds of questions to get Clinton in trouble. If only they had been the ones to do it.

And it necessarily means that they will seek out yet another committee and yet another hearing and yet another set of questions, because their inquisition/witch hunt must bear fruit. It must. Because they’ve staked so much to “knowing” that the Administration did wrong.

Indeed. And this is after considerable tongue-bathing of Trey Gowdy as The Guy To Take Down Hillary, because he’s such a smart, sharp prosecutor.

The problem is, even the best prosecutor has to start from an actual, verifiable crime, and work to prove the accused did it. Here, they’re CERTAIN the accused committed a crime, and they think it’s their job to FIND IT!

Hence the meandering, fragmented, incoherent questions; the increasing wrath and frustration, and Gowdy’s admission at the end that they didn’t learn anything new. It can’t be that there’s nothing new to learn. It must be that they didn’t dig deep enough. This is the kind of thinking that leads to torture as part of interrogation.
