re: #374 Atlas Fails

OWS is not perfect. It’s attracted its share of nuts. But the movement itself, as unfocused and unorganized as it might be, is a good thing, imo. Contrary to the opinions of imbeciles like Herman Cain, being against Wall Street bailouts and in favor of tighter regulations on the financial sector does not make you anti-capitalist or mean that you’re a hypocrite if you own an iPod. It means you’re tired of the people who started the recession (mainly those who work in the financial industry, not true innovators like Steve Jobs and Bill Gates) getting special treatment under the current tax code.

All true. But the anti-capitalist angle is very visible in photo reportages, tho I don’t have any percentages. There is a danger of more moderate OWSers falling out (as weather gets colder, etc.), and socialist fanatics taking the center stage. Then all the claims about “Marxists” will come true, and this may degenerate into something less than benevolent, not to mention absolutely inefficient.
