Your expectation for Ds to spend resources there is not reasonable.

We should spend resources, but we should be realistic about our chances. Sending surrogates into every backwood burge and flooding the airwaves with campaign ads isn’t going to flip the state overnight. Focusing on the votes we can turn, largely in liberal enclaves (which increasingly tend to be city centers), is a surer path to future victories than trying to flip votes in districts where the wildlife outnumber the people.
