Chuck C. Johnson Is Now Suing Gawker in California; Anti-SLAPP Here We Come

There’s that brilliance we’ve come to expect from Chucky. He thinks he’s the smartest guy in the room, when the reality is that the room ought to be padded and washable.

The guy doesn’t realize the pain he’s about to put himself through with this suit. Yeah, I know, he’s trying to avoid the statute of limitations on his claims, but here’s the thing - filing in CA is where this should have been done in the first place. In federal court.

He still can’t quite figure that out - and neither have any of his lawyers who’ve advised him. Anyone with a modicum of understanding of basic federal civil procedure would know where/how to file this properly - which court makes the proper venue.

The absolute last place to pick? Missouri - which has no relation to either of the parties in the action. The only reason Missouri was picked was because it was convenient to Chucky’s lawyer who decided to take this case in the first place.

So, now he’s got a CA case (along with the MO federal court case, which should be wrapping any day now), and he’s going to find himself in a world of hurt as the anti-SLAPP suit comes a knocking.

This new filing? That all but guarantees another anti-SLAPP suit. That Chucky most certainly would lose.

So, that must mean Chucky thinks he’s winning because he’s filed another suit. *facepalm*
