Because I’ve heard practically every wingnut make that assertion in the wake of Obama’s poll numbers. When they’re not suggesting that pollsters are relying on ‘08 numbers when conservatives “know” that the shininess of the First Black President has rubbed off, they’re whining that people aren’t telling the truth to poll questioners because “Nobody wants to admit to voting against the black guy.”
