And if I’m correct, we have no eyewitness accounts of Hannibal. Or Boudica. Or Pyrrhus. Or many other figures who lived around 2000 years ago. We know after all how many important pieces of information has been lost to time. And on top of that, one thing that I think people forget when we debate Jesus’s historicity is that he was absolutely no one of significance in his own lifetime - preachers and Messiahs like him were getting executed every other week, after all.
I think it’s perfectly reasonable to accept that a man named Jesus ( or whatever you spelled it back then) ran around, preached for a while, did something big in Jerusalem, and got executed/crucified for his actions.
