True, but the base aren’t the ones paying the bills, the business wing of the party is. And they’ve every reason to want his orange ass gone post haste. If the economy takes a dive before next year, they may decide that kicking his ass out and running Pence or another candidate in 2020 is worth it.

That’s probably the only plausible scenario but the problem I see is that even the business wing is wedded to a medium term game plan where small population Red states control the Senate, gerrymandering keeps the House in play and Trump’s judicial nominees tip the balance in the courts. It’s gonna take a long motherfucking lever to pry his ass out of the Oval Office.
