Really… I ran into two of these monsters in 2001 in eastern France (the only time I visited France in the summer, all my other trips have been in Jan. or Feb.)… I was sitting on a rock wall, outside of a small hamlet in Burgundy, and the damn thing came buzzing out of the wall. I ran out into the country road at the same time a municipal truck was coming down the road, he had to swerve to avoid hitting me.

The second one I encountered was a few days later, in Lyon, in theParc de la Tte d’Or (Park of the Golden head)… I was sitting on a park bench an one of them started to dive bomb me.

Shit, and I thought the Mud daubers ‘round here were bad. Yet another reason to never travel to Europe…least not without a shotgun handy.
