I think they’re going to make an ad out of some of them. That’s my best guess. That’s a better venue than the debates to point out someone’s flip flop act.

Yeah, it’s impossible to corner Romney in the debate when he’s willing to lie about EVERYTHING.

Because the truth is, Obama DID point out Romney’s flip-flopping, multiple times. He hammered him on the tax cuts for a good half-hour. He attacked him on the blatant lie about coverage for pre-existing conditions. But all Romney had to do was say “Nuh uh, I didn’t say that!” and without an active moderator who has research on hand, no one’s going to call him on it.

That’s Lehrer’s real sin, which is getting lost in all the Lehrer backlash, and the backlash to the backlash. You don’t want your moderator to be the story, but he also shouldn’t just allow people to lie indiscriminately to his face.
