You know, every so often I try to apply logic and reason to a situation, and then I remember that Donald J. Trump got elected President of the United States. Logic and reason have no place in our society right now.

My take is different, based on how I view the universe generally. Often in my work, when I look at the data, they don’t seem to make sense. The thing is, they actually DO make sense, but I don’t know enough for them to make sense TO ME.

Trump’s election is not about a failure of the universe to make sense. It’s about there being, as I said, a surprisingly large number of disturbingly stupid people. THAT is the lesson of Trump’s election - there are way more stupid angry racists in America than I’d thought.
