In 1963 we all had our dreams of goin’ back home…

When we were off duty, some of us built cats and trimarines in Vietnam and Hong Kong, on military leave, to realize that very dream.

Always looking forward with great expectations to the day we might go home…although 53,000 of our sorry souls perished…!

Back in the really olde early sixty’s in Vietnam and Laos, the Kingston Trio was really, really big, with us sorry arse, goddamn killers.

Today their powerful lyrics and many songs still evoke powerful memories for me.

We were soldiers once…yes we were…
